Vulcan Seals Type VG2 Graphite Gland Packing

Vulcan Seals Type VG2 is a composite braided gland packing manufactured from acrylic (PAN) fibre, heavily impregnated with graphite lubricants. The inter-braided lattice construction provides good lubricity, thermal stability and resistance to shaft wear, making the VG2 an exceptional performance, cost-effective general purpose packing suitable for most plant applications. The graphite impregnation reduces friction, minimises heat build-up and improves sealing performance under continuous operation, whilst the self-lubricating PAN fibre reinforced with Carbon practically eliminates shaft scoring.

VG2 is a soft, flexible packing that can be wrapped directly into the stuffing box to form a custom packing set, making it ideal for worn shafts, oval glands and non-standard sizes. It eliminates the need for pre-cut or pre-formed packing rings and reduces inventory by covering multiple gland sizes. Suitable for use against oils, water, steam, solvents and general chemicals, the VG2 is a reliable choice for pumps and valves handling clean to moderately aggressive media across a wide range of industries.
