Hanna Instruments HI-98198 opdo™ Optical Dissolved Oxygen Meter

The Hanna Instruments HI-98198 opdo™ is a rugged, professional, IP67-rated portable dissolved oxygen (DO) meter designed for fresh and saltwater measurements of dissolved oxygen, barometric pressure and temperature. At its core is the HI-764113 digital optical dissolved oxygen probe, based on the principle of fluorescence quenching — a blue LED excites an immobilised pT-based luminophore which emits red light, with dissolved oxygen quenching this excitation to provide accurate, stable measurements over long periods without the need for frequent calibration. The HI-98198 opdo™ is only compatible with the Hanna HI-764113 digital dissolved oxygen probe.

Concentration measurements are automatically compensated for barometric pressure, temperature and salinity. Barometric pressure and temperature are measured and compensated automatically, while salinity compensation is applied by manually setting the salinity concentration of the water being measured. The meter also features a built-in application to measure and calculate BOD (Biological Oxygen Demand), OUR (Oxygen Uptake Rate) and SOUR (Specific Oxygen Uptake Rate). With 4000 record log on demand capability, USB-C data transfer, one or two point calibration and a dedicated GLP key logging the last 5 calibrations, the HI-98198 is a fully featured instrument for professional dissolved oxygen measurement. Supplied complete in a custom thermoformed carrying case with all accessories.
