The Kane Hand-held Combustible Gas Leak Detector works using flashing LED lights and a buzzer.

The green LED will stay illuminated when in fresh air, with an amber and red light appearing when gases are detected. An audible buzzer provides additional warning when a gas has been identified, with the buzzer's speed increasing to show a higher gas concentration.
